What you get here
5222 songs with the chord progression marked against the video's timeline. On each page you see the current chord, the next one and how long until the change, plus the diatonic chords of the key. You can transpose the chart to your own key and see the chord diagram for keyboard, guitar, cavaquinho or ukulele.
How to use it
- Pick a song from the catalogue.
- Press play. The chord track starts moving along with the video.
- If your voice wants another key, transpose the chart right there — the diatonic chords rearrange with it.
- If the highlight runs early or late for your taste, adjust the offset on the page itself.
What this site does not do
It does not change the key of the audio. The player is YouTube's, in an iframe from another domain, and the only thing its API exposes is speed — which shifts key and tempo together, which is no good. The chart transposes; the audio does not.
It does not publish lyrics, and it does not score your singing. A chord progression is a musical function and may be published; lyrics are a separate protected work.
It does not re-host audio and puts nothing on top of the player. The video is served by YouTube, with credit to the source channel.
